Mechanical Design Engineer – Cardiff

About the role

We are seeking a forward‑thinking Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Cardiff. You will work on innovative projects across industrial and commercial sectors, applying modern CAD technologies and contemporary manufacturing methods.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using modern CAD software.
• Develop innovative engineering solutions from concept through to manufacture.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, manufacturing, and project teams.
• Support product improvement and continuous innovation initiatives.
• Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards and project specifications.
• Participate in design reviews and problem‑solving activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a mechanical design engineering role.
• Strong CAD capability (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD or similar).
• Understanding of modern manufacturing and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• HNC/HND or degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
