Mechanical Design Engineer – Materials Handling & Warehouse Automation

About the role

We are expanding our UK operations and need a Mechanical Design Engineer to create innovative solutions for materials handling and warehouse automation. You will work on designing clever, efficient systems that meet our clients' automation requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design solutions for materials handling and warehouse automation using AutoCAD.
• Analyse, document and communicate customer requirements.
• Model data flows to support solution designs.
• Prepare design proposal documents.
• Liaise with suppliers to select appropriate equipment for bids.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in material handling design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel.
• Understanding of material handling industry terms, processes and tolerances.
• Awareness of automated warehouse technology.
• Ability to present designs to end customers.
• Commitment to staying updated on product developments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
