Mechanical Engineering Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead to join a dynamic engineering company that tackles complex challenges across power generation, rail and other sectors. This permanent, hybrid‑based position will have you leading a small, experienced team and delivering engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support engineering delivery from concept development through design, implementation, commissioning and operational support.
• Review and approve technical documentation and oversee configuration management activities.
• Provide technical oversight for facility modifications, infrastructure upgrades and asset lifecycle management.
• Assist with planning, risk management and progress reporting for engineering projects.
• Support installation, commissioning and testing to ensure successful implementation of engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a highly regulated or safety‑critical industry.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams or coordinate multidisciplinary activities.
• Experience delivering solutions across the full asset lifecycle, including design, modification, maintenance and operational support.
• Understanding of engineering governance, technical assurance and configuration management.
