MEP Supervisor / Site Manager (Electrical Bias)

About the role

1st Step Solutions is recruiting, on behalf of a national M&E contractor, an experienced MEP Supervisor/Site Manager for a new project in Southampton. The contract is 12 months or longer and is focused on electrical work. The successful candidate must have previous experience with a Tier 1 M&E contractor and have completed AP duties in a client-facing role.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with colleagues and supervisors on timeframe and labour requirements.
• Support mechanical compliance, liaise with mechanical trades and coordinate MEP works.
• Respond to electrical issues as they arise and gather information about the electrical installation and potential surprises.
• Oversee direct labour or electrical subcontractors and ensure electrical safety rules are followed on site.
• Complete mechanical site safety audits and electrical completion paperwork, and keep all paperwork up to date.
• Report daily on site issues and progress, and help teams resolve matters and implement corrective actions to maximise productivity.
• Identify, source and deliver materials and consumables on time, maintain records and control stock.
• Maintain health and safety systems, including risk assessments, method statements and toolbox talks.

Required profile

• Previous experience with a Tier 1 M&E contractor and AP duties in a client-facing role.
• Proactive thinking, good organisation and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent people management skills.

Required skills

• City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• CSCS Approved Electrician Gold Card.
• 18th SSSTS/SMSTS.
• Good literacy skills.
