Mobile Developer – React Native (Hybrid, Newcastle)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Mobile Developer to lead the design, development and maintenance of our React Native applications for iOS and Android. The role is hybrid, requiring three days a week in our Newcastle upon Tyne office, and offers the chance to work closely with IT, business stakeholders and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end development of React Native mobile apps for iOS and Android.
• Design intuitive, high‑performance user interfaces that follow platform UX guidelines.
• Integrate EMG and third‑party APIs, ensuring seamless functionality.
• Manage app releases through App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues and enforce security best practices.
• Drive technical discussions within the Mobile and Web workstream.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver on schedule.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging mobile, AWS and cloud technologies.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience building production‑grade mobile apps with React Native.
• Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript within the React ecosystem.
• Hands‑on experience deploying apps via App Store Connect and Google Play.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API integration and agile development.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and communication skills.
