Motor Vehicle Technician – Shift Allowance – Cumbria

About the role

The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking three experienced Motor Vehicle Technicians to join its Workington facility in Cumbria. You will be responsible for servicing, repairing and maintaining a diverse fleet of Trust vehicles, including petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric models, to meet strict Trust and DVSA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and repairs on ambulance and support vehicles.
• Maintain and calibrate specialist ambulance equipment.
• Ensure compliance with DVSA regulations and Trust safety policies.
• Support a 365‑day workshop operation using a rotating shift pattern.

Required profile

• Recognised apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience.
• NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 qualification.
• Full UK driving licence with Category C1 entitlement.
• Experience working with petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
