MSK Physiotherapist – 6‑Month Secondment (Band 5/6)

About the role

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist for a six‑month secondment. You will join a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, clinical specialists, advanced practitioners and First Contact Practitioners, delivering high‑quality patient care across primary and secondary pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive MSK assessments, both face‑to‑face and virtually, for referrals from GPs and hospital consultants.
• Develop, implement and adapt individualised treatment programmes using a person‑centred approach.
• Support self‑management, promote lifestyle changes and coordinate onward referrals to support services.
• Manage a clinical caseload that includes patients with complex needs.
• Contribute to Clinical Governance initiatives and support the MSK assessment service.
• Provide training, supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students.

Required profile

• Qualified physiotherapist currently employed at Band 5 or Band 6 level.
• Demonstrated experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical governance.
