Multi Skilled Operator – Mobile Plant (Compactor/Telehandler)

About the role

Your primary function will be operating a range of mobile plant equipment – including compactors, telehandlers and shunter vehicles – to move waste materials safely on‑site while ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily and weekly checks of all mobile plant in line with site procedures and manufacturers’ handbooks.
• Maintain plant cleanliness to the highest standard and report any defects immediately.
• Report all incidents through the company’s incident reporting system.
• Follow relevant risk assessments and safe operating procedures.
• Comply with company environmental, quality and health‑safety standards.
• Keep skips and waste containers/bays to a minimum.
• Perform general site duties such as housekeeping, ground maintenance, painting skips/containers and litter picking.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating mobile plant and heavy machinery.
• Ability to work productively with the operations team.
• Capable of carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs under guidance.
• Basic understanding of health, safety, environmental and APHA compliance.

What we offer

• Salary £26,598 per annum.
• 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 08:00‑16:00.
• Overtime paid at 1.5× after 42.5 hours.
