Network Engineer – 3-month contract – Guildford/Remote

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a growing network team. You will be responsible for configuring, implementing and supporting a large‑scale enterprise network estate across multiple sites, with a mix of on‑site and remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain Cisco routing and switching solutions in a large enterprise environment.
• Implement and troubleshoot BGP routing, WAN, LAN and wireless technologies.
• Manage FortiGate firewalls, including policy creation, IPS/IDS, SSL inspection, web filtering, SD‑WAN, VPNs and high‑availability setups.
• Administer Palo Alto firewalls and support hybrid cloud networking across Azure and AWS.
• Provide day‑to‑day support for multi‑site network infrastructure and drive network transformation projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise setting.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Cisco, BGP and large‑scale routing.
• Extensive background in firewall technologies (FortiGate, Palo Alto) and network security best practices.
• Experience delivering hybrid cloud networking solutions and SD‑WAN deployments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills.
