Night Manager

About the role

The Night Manager at Morrisons in Chesterfield leads the overnight team to ensure the store is fully prepared for the next day’s customers. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will oversee all night‑time operations, from staffing to store readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and empower colleagues to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Listen to customer feedback and act promptly.
• Maintain market‑leading product availability across the store.
• Manage scheduling, absence, performance reviews and talent conversations for night‑shift staff.
• Deliver training to build capability and confidence within the team.
• Identify and develop talent within the department.
• Build effective relationships with other operating departments.
• Plan resources thoroughly to ensure the store is ready for the next day.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading retail or night‑shift teams.
• Strong focus on customer service and store readiness.
• Ability to manage people routines, including scheduling and performance management.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Capability to develop talent and drive performance against targets.
