Night Porter

About the role

The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere is opening a new 55‑bed hotel and is looking for a Night Porter to join the team from day one. You will be the friendly face that ensures guests enjoy a smooth, safe, and comfortable stay throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, handle check‑ins and check‑outs during night hours.
• Answer enquiries at reception, the bar, or over the phone.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the restaurant, lounge and public areas.
• Prepare the restaurant for breakfast service and set up the buffet table.
• Patrol the premises, perform security checks and ensure a safe environment.

Required profile

• Friendly, approachable and customer‑focused.
• Positive attitude with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and stay organised during night shifts.
