Nursery Teaching Assistant – Flexible Summer Holiday Work

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistants to provide flexible, high‑quality support across a range of nursery settings in Medway during the summer holidays. This temporary full‑time role offers the chance to work in different early years environments, covering staff absences and short‑notice sickness.

Key responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children.
• Support children’s learning and play activities, ensuring their wellbeing at all times.
• Cover planned staff leave and unexpected absences on an ad‑hoc basis.
• Adapt quickly to new team dynamics and classroom routines in each placement.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, health and safety in all settings.
• Contribute to daily record‑keeping and communication with parents as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a nursery or Early Years setting.
• Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification.
• Genuine passion for early childhood development.
• Flexibility to work on short notice and across multiple locations.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Required skills

• Relevant childcare qualification (Level 2 or Level 3).
