Optical Glazing Technician – Lancaster

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Optical Glazing Technician to join our employee‑owned optical laboratory in the Lancaster/Morecambe area. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment delivering high‑quality ophthalmic lens glazing for opticians across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate ophthalmic lens glazing using MEI equipment.
• Operate and maintain glazing machinery, following safety and quality standards.
• Support the Lab Manager in streamlining workflows and upholding production standards.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and help train colleagues.
• Maintain a positive, team‑focused atmosphere throughout the workday.

Required profile

• Proven experience in optical glazing, lens manufacturing or optical lab operations.
• Comfortable in a high‑volume, fast‑moving production setting.
• Attention to detail with a quality‑first mindset.
• Good organisational and prioritisation abilities; confident decision‑making.
• Experience guiding or supporting other lab staff is a plus.

Required skills

• Operation of MEI glazing machinery.
• SMC (Tech) qualification (desirable, not essential).
