About the role
St Jude’s Care is seeking a calm, reliable professional to act as the first point of contact for staff and clients outside normal office hours. Working from home, you will coordinate urgent support for live‑in, domiciliary and supported‑living services across the Dorset/Somerset area.
Key responsibilities
- Answer calls from care staff and clients during evenings and weekends (Weekdays 17:00‑09:00, Weekends Friday 17:00‑Monday 09:00).
- Provide advice on medication and emergency protocols.
- Contact clients when carers are delayed and arrange emergency cover.
- Log incidents and escalate issues according to company procedures.
Required profile
- Experience in health or social care, preferably in care coordination or on‑call roles.
- Excellent communication and decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and think quickly.
- Preference for candidates residing in Dorset or Somerset.

- Average pay £25 per hour of call‑handling time (£250 per week).
- Option to work on a permanent salaried contract or a casual agreement.
