About the role
This part‑time academic position involves teaching the GELA2000 Introduction to Geology course during the Winter 2027 term. The role includes delivering lectures and laboratory sessions, preparing assessments, and handling all course administration.
Key responsibilities
- Teach lectures for GELA2000 Introduction to Geology on Tuesdays and Thursdays (8:35 am‑9:55 am).
- Conduct laboratory sessions on Wednesdays (8:35 am‑11:25 am).
- Prepare, administer and grade tests and examinations.
- Manage all administrative aspects of the course, including record‑keeping and student communication.
Required profile
- At least one year of teaching experience at a post‑secondary institution.
- PhD in Geology, Soil Science or a related discipline, or a Master’s degree with two years relevant experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collegiality and interpersonal abilities.
