Payroll Administrator (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a growing UK business operating across multiple entities. The role is hybrid, requiring at least three days per week on‑site in Leeds, and offers the chance to develop your payroll expertise in a complex, multi‑site environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and processing weekly and monthly payroll runs.
• Validate payroll data and maintain accurate employee payroll records.
• Process new starters, leavers, contractual changes and P45s.
• Update tax codes, student loan deductions and HMRC statutory changes.
• Support PAYE, National Insurance, pension and other statutory submissions.
• Reconcile payroll reports and coordinate with Finance on payroll funding.
• Administer auto‑enrolment and company pension schemes, including reporting and payments.
• Calculate statutory payments such as SSP, SMP and SPP.
• Handle employee queries regarding pay, tax, deductions and pensions.
• Process salary adjustments, wage increases and other amendments.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in payroll administration or processing.
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Professional communication skills for resolving payroll queries.
• Team‑oriented and collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Sage 50 Payroll or similar payroll software.
• Familiarity with time and attendance systems (desirable).
