Payroll Coordinator – Interim (Hourly)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator on an interim basis for a reputable, growing business in Petersfield. The role involves overseeing accurate monthly payroll, supporting employee queries, and ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payments.
• Act as primary contact for payroll queries, providing guidance while maintaining confidentiality.
• Manage pension schemes, auto‑enrolment and statutory deductions in line with legislation.
• Assist with onboarding, employee records management and off‑boarding procedures.
• Support payroll and HR process improvements and ensure GDPR compliance.

Required profile

• Proven end‑to‑end payroll experience, preferably in an SME or multi‑site environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP, etc.).
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with discretion handling sensitive data.
• Proactive, dependable and problem‑solving attitude.
