Payroll Coordinator – Interim (Full‑Time/Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator to join a growing business in Petersfield on an interim basis. The successful candidate will ensure that monthly payroll runs smoothly, employees are paid accurately and on time, and that all statutory obligations are met.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end monthly payroll processing, guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as the primary contact for payroll queries, providing clear guidance while maintaining confidentiality.
• Administer pension schemes, auto‑enrolment and statutory deductions in line with current UK legislation.
• Support onboarding, employee record maintenance and off‑boarding procedures.
• Identify and implement improvements to payroll, finance and HR processes, ensuring GDPR compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering full‑cycle payroll in an SME or multi‑site environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP, etc.).
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities with a high level of discretion.
• Proactive, dependable and capable of solving payroll‑related challenges.
