Personal Tax Manager – £50k-£65k, Wokingham

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join a well‑established accountancy practice near Wokingham. The role offers a blend of compliance work and advisory projects, allowing you to manage client portfolios while supporting senior directors on complex tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate compliance.
• Prepare and review Self‑Assessment tax returns and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) returns.
• Prepare and submit P11D forms and related compliance documentation.
• Review work produced by junior team members and provide guidance.
• Assist with tax planning projects for individuals and owner‑managed businesses.
• Support the Tax Director with advance clearance applications and HMRC correspondence.
• Identify planning opportunities and advise clients on personal tax matters.
• Maintain strong client relationships and meet all statutory deadlines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a personal‑tax focused role within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax compliance.
• Experience reviewing junior staff work and delivering advisory advice.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Professional qualification such as ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent experience.
