Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist – Birmingham, AL

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Glaucoma Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist to cover a large territory in Birmingham, AL. This remote position focuses on building disease awareness, supporting physicians, and driving sales of the glaucoma portfolio, including Rocklatan, Rhopressa, and Simbrinza.

Key responsibilities

• Build disease awareness with key partners and understand treatment initiation processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on prior authorizations, payer restrictions, and reimbursement to improve patient access.
• Manage the sales budget and develop an impactful territory plan to grow sales.
• Employ business planning and local market knowledge to expand sales and customer networks.
• Develop strong relationships with physicians, opinion leaders, and healthcare organizations.
• Implement compliant, medically relevant programs to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
• Visit all customers in the territory according to their importance and potential.
• Coordinate trainings, informative programs, and product presentations.
• Prospect new accounts and identify growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (e.g., high school + 10 years, Associate + 6 years, M.S. + 0 years).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining an active presence in the territory.
