Pharmacist – Clinical Pharmacy Service (Band 6/7)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team at Berkshire Independent Hospital in Reading. The role provides a clinical pharmacy service to inpatient wards and the outpatient department, promoting safe, effective and economical use of medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a high‑quality pharmacy service in line with legislation, professional standards and clinical requirements.
• Provide advice and support to consultants, clinicians and patients on safe, appropriate and cost‑effective medication use.
• Advise hospital departments on medicines management, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
• Promote a multidisciplinary, patient‑focused approach to healthcare delivery.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Degree in Pharmacy.
• Experience in dispensing and patient counselling.
• Ability to supervise and train junior staff.
• Willingness to undertake clinical training and postgraduate qualifications.
