Planning Infrastructure Monitoring Assistant

About the role
The Planning Infrastructure Monitoring Assistant supports the council’s Section 106 and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) processes. You will work closely with planning officers, legal officers and external stakeholders to ensure contributions are identified, recorded and agreed in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the Section 106 scoping process, seeking stakeholder views, recording responses and facilitating agreements.
- Assist the Planning Infrastructure Monitoring Officer with the CIL scoping process.
- Assess CIL requirements on planning applications and determine liability triggers.
- Act as the council’s collection officer for issuing all CIL notices.
- Issue decisions on CIL exemptions, surcharges and late‑payment interest in line with council policy.
Required profile
- Experience working with planning applications, Section 106 agreements or CIL processes.
- Strong understanding of local authority planning policies and legal frameworks.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and internal teams.
