Platform Engineer (Security Clearance Eligible)

About the role

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our collaborative engineering team. This remote‑first position (UK) requires occasional visits to our Bristol office and offers the chance to shape a modern, serverless cloud platform.

Key responsibilities

• Support and continuously improve development, test and production environments.
• Design, implement and maintain Azure‑based cloud platform services and infrastructure.
• Drive automation and enhance CI/CD pipelines to increase reliability and speed of delivery.
• Work closely with development teams to provide tooling, remove obstacles and champion a DevOps culture.
• Monitor, optimise and ensure cost‑efficient platform performance and scalability.
• Maintain platform security, governance and compliance standards.
• Act as an escalation point for platform‑related incidents and promote operational excellence.
• Contribute to the adoption of cloud‑native and serverless architectures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure or SRE environments.
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience across IaaS and PaaS services.
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tooling.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Bash or Go.
• Experience supporting and operating production environments, including monitoring and incident management.
• Understanding of security, compliance and governance best practices.
• Excellent communication and a collaborative mindset.
