Prison Officer – HMP Bullingdon

About the role

The Prison Officer role at HMP Bullingdon involves safeguarding the public, supporting the rehabilitation of inmates, and maintaining order within a secure environment. You will work as part of a dedicated team, rotating across various shifts, including weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain security and safety of the prison estate and its occupants.
• Supervise inmate movement, conduct searches, and enforce prison rules.
• Build constructive relationships with prisoners to encourage positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a coordinated response to incidents.
• Participate in training, education, and rehabilitation programmes.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 at start of employment.
• Eligibility to work in the UK under Civil Service nationality requirements.
• Ability to pass medical, fitness, and eyesight assessments.
• Strong integrity, resilience, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends.
