Procurement Advisor – 6 month contract

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Advisor on a six‑month contract to support a public sector organisation. The role involves delivering procurement projects, ensuring compliance with UK public procurement regulations and providing expert advice to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior stakeholders to identify current and future procurement needs and develop medium‑ and long‑term plans.
• Manage end‑to‑end procurement activities, from requirement definition through tendering, evaluation, contract award and implementation.
• Deliver a range of procurement projects, including open market tenders, framework mini‑competitions and direct awards.
• Draft and manage contract documentation, including extensions, variations and amendments.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and drive process improvements through standardisation and automation.
• Provide guidance and training to contract managers and business stakeholders on procurement processes and governance.
• Identify procurement risks, develop mitigation strategies and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in public sector procurement, delivering end‑to‑end tender processes for professional services.
• Strong knowledge of UK public procurement legislation, including the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent procurement projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Excellent commercial acumen, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and negotiate effectively.
