Procurement Manager – Indirect Spend Category Lead

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded Procurement Manager to join a growing FMCG/Manufacturing business. You will take ownership of the indirect procurement function, driving value, cost efficiencies, supplier performance, and robust procurement governance across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead procurement activities across indirect spend categories such as energy, utilities, packaging, facilities, transport, IT, professional services and capital equipment.
- Analyse spend data, develop category strategies and benchmark pricing to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitor performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
- Negotiate complex contracts, manage renewals and tender processes to secure favourable commercial terms.
- Maintain procurement policies, procedures and controls, ensuring compliance and best practice across the business.
- Identify and mitigate procurement and supply‑chain risks, supporting business continuity planning.
- Partner with finance, operations, engineering and manufacturing to align procurement with strategic objectives.
Required profile
- Proven procurement experience within FMCG, manufacturing or a fast‑paced operational environment.
- Strong background managing indirect spend categories and delivering measurable cost savings.
- Experience negotiating complex supplier contracts and commercial agreements.
- Excellent analytical ability to interpret spend data and identify improvement opportunities.
- Project management capability with a track record of delivering process improvements.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and build effective cross‑functional relationships.

- Experience with procurement ERP systems
