Procurement Manager

About the role

Sellick Partnership is recruiting a Procurement Manager for the Co‑op Academies Trust. This senior position will lead the Trust‑wide procurement and contract management strategy, ensuring compliance, value for money and consistent processes across a growing multi‑academy organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Trust‑wide procurement and contract management framework.
• Establish and maintain preferred supplier arrangements, framework portfolios and standard contract terms.
• Drive standardisation, aggregation and contract consolidation to improve value and reduce risk.
• Ensure procurement compliance with Trust Financial Regulations, the Academies Trust Handbook and the Procurement Act 2023.
• Lead high‑value, complex and above‑threshold procurement exercises.
• Advise schools and senior leaders on compliant tendering, quotation and direct award processes.
• Embed a full‑lifecycle contract management framework and oversee supplier performance.
• Analyse spend and contract data to identify savings and efficiency opportunities.

Required profile

• Degree level or equivalent experience.
• CIPS qualified, working towards CIPS, or another relevant procurement qualification.
• Experience of procurement in a medium to large complex organisation, preferably in the public sector.
• Proven experience managing tenders, supplier frameworks and e‑tendering/e‑sourcing portals.
• Strong understanding of procurement compliance, financial controls, governance and public‑sector accountability.

What we offer

• Permanent contract, 37 hours per week.
• Hybrid working model – two days on‑site per week at 1 Angel Square, Manchester.
• Competitive salary range £56,710 – £61,206 per annum.
