Production Engineer – CNC Machining & Manufacturing

About the role
We are seeking a Production Engineer with strong CNC machining expertise to join a leading precision engineering company in Burnley. The role combines technical estimating with hands‑on involvement in manufacturing strategy, supporting a diverse portfolio of turning and milling projects.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse customer RFQs and engineering drawings to devise optimal manufacturing solutions.
- Produce accurate cost estimates for CNC turning and milling jobs, including tooling, fixtures and cycle times.
- Generate CAD/CAM toolpaths and assess machining methods to ensure profitability.
- Support programming improvements and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to align estimates with project strategy.
Required profile
- Proven background in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, CNC programming or estimating.
- Experience with both CNC turning and milling processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
