Production & Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production & Operations Manager to lead a busy shift in a fast‑growing food manufacturing business. You will be on the factory floor, driving output, quality and safety while supporting a team of leaders, operators and agency staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily production activities to ensure plans are delivered on time and in full.
• Lead and supervise Production Team Leaders, Operators and temporary staff.
• Run shift briefings, oversee attendance, performance, training and onboarding.
• Control labour allocation, waste, yield loss and material usage.
• Maintain BRCGS, HACCP and food‑safety standards consistently.
• Monitor CCPs, production records and quality incidents, implementing corrective actions.
• Track OEE, downtime and production KPIs, reporting performance to senior management.
• Implement SOPs, standard work and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure accurate SAP transactions and production records.
• Conduct workplace inspections and support Health & Safety compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, Shift Manager or Production Manager in food manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of HACCP, BRCGS and food‑safety requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams on the shop floor and drive continuous improvement.
• Experience with high‑volume production environments and labour efficiency management.
