Production Operative – Mezz Floor Operator (Day Shift)

About the role

Join Valeo Foods UK as a Production Operative on the Mezzanine floor of our Heanor site, home to Matthew Walker Christmas puddings. You will work the day shift, rotating between 6 am and 3:30 pm, ensuring smooth production of high‑quality food products.

Key responsibilities

• Mix ingredients to product specifications according to the daily plan.
• Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions and escalation processes for raw materials and components, especially regarding quality defects.
• Dispose of waste materials in the correct waste streams.
• Maintain safety and hygiene standards in the working area.
• Complete actions raised from GMP and Health & Safety audits within agreed timeframes.
• Produce output to agreed quality levels and report any defects or potential defects in equipment.
• Maintain paper records and IFS transactions as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in food production.
• Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
• Awareness of allergens in line with HACCP risk assessment.
• Experience with right‑first‑time checks.

Required skills

• Understanding of the IFS (International Food Standard) system.
• Knowledge of Critical Control Points (CCPs) on the Mezzanine floor.
• Numeracy at Level 1 equivalent.
