Production Planning Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a Production Planning Supervisor to join a growing manufacturing business in Leeds. Reporting to Operations, you will coordinate material flow, support production activities and manage work‑in‑progress to ensure manufacturing schedules are achieved efficiently and without interruption.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a small team to ensure materials, components and equipment are available to production in line with schedules.
• Coordinate daily production support activities to meet output targets.
• Work closely with planners, supply‑chain and operational stakeholders to maintain timely material flow.
• Develop and improve kitting, line replenishment and work allocation processes to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate ERP and production system data on inventory movements and work‑in‑progress.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support resource coordination and capacity management to deliver production plans.
• Mentor and develop team members to achieve departmental objectives.

Required profile

• Experience in production planning, manufacturing coordination, operations supervision or supply‑chain environments.
• Strong organisational, scheduling and workload planning abilities.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
