Programme Director – Infrastructure (Science Campus)

About the role

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is seeking a senior Programme Director to lead the redevelopment of its Science Campus in South Mimms. This permanent, full‑time role will oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of major infrastructure projects, from early ideation through design, construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the complete lifecycle of the site redevelopment programme, including planning, design, build and implementation.
• Integrate existing infrastructure initiatives to strengthen the UK’s research, innovation and regulatory ecosystem.
• Manage the flagship new manufacturing and global distribution facility, coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure projects align with scientific delivery requirements, regulatory standards and future healthcare needs.
• Control programme budgets, timelines and risk registers, delivering value for money.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience delivering large‑scale infrastructure or construction programmes.
• Strong understanding of scientific, healthcare or regulatory environments.
• Experience working in the public sector or with government agencies.
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and multi‑disciplinary teams.
