Project Engineer – Infrastructure Coordination

About the role

The Project Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end coordination of engineering activities for the Grimsby to Walpole upgrade. This role bridges design, ground investigation, land access and contractor delivery to ensure the project progresses on schedule and to the required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead coordination of design integration, ground and site investigation, and land access permitting.
• Oversee contractor performance across multiple work fronts and ensure alignment of all subcontractors and delivery partners.
• Manage programme delivery, risk and issue resolution, and technical coordination across engineering disciplines.
• Interface with internal Design, Commercial and Land teams to maintain project cohesion.
• Ensure compliance with safety, technical, and programme requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Strong civil engineering background, preferably degree‑qualified.
• Experience in utilities, power, transmission, pipelines or rail infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in project delivery and coordination beyond site‑only engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to manage contractors, subcontractors and multi‑disciplinary teams.
