Prop Dresser x2, Coronation Street

About the role

ITV is hiring two prop dressers for Coronation Street, based in Manchester with an expectation of five days in the studio and office. The role is fixed term and full time, paid between £46,694 and £49,594 per year. One position is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity, and the other is a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret scripts and turn the requirements of the Production Designer, Art Director and Standby Art Director into visual elements.
• Erect and dismantle scenery safely, in line with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Prepare character and dressing props to give scenes depth and authenticity.

Required profile

• Highly experienced, with a proven track record in a Props/Design Department in TV drama or film.
• Flexible approach to work, able to work long and unsociable hours.
• Ability to solve problems practically and creatively, on and off set.
• Experience erecting and dismantling scenery safely, ideally IOSH or equivalent trained.
• Full UK driving licence preferred, or working towards it.
• Willingness to move and dismantle heavy objects regularly.

• Good understanding of continuity and of prop/product placement.
• Confident, professional way of dealing with cast and crew.
• Communication, organisation, initiative and teamwork.
• Visual awareness, attention to detail and knowledge of the TV process and set etiquette.
