Property Accountant – Real Estate Finance

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing real estate business in Central London to hire a Property Accountant. You will support the financial management of a diverse portfolio of properties and development assets across several entities, helping to ensure accurate rent collection, service charge reconciliation and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and review rent rolls, verifying tenant data, lease terms and billing schedules.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and manage various rent charge types.
• Produce rent roll reports and income forecasts.
• Support year‑end service charge reconciliations and liaise with property managers on queries.
• Generate tenant arrears reports and coordinate collection strategies.
• Reconcile internal records with managing‑agent statements.
• Prepare monthly property‑level financial reports and assist in management accounts production.
• Validate void service charge costs and ensure correct VAT recovery.
• Track empty‑rates relief periods and reconcile rates charges.

Required profile

• Proven experience in property finance or client accounting.
• Strong understanding of service charge, rent and lease structures.
• Highly organised, process‑driven and detail‑oriented.
• Excellent analytical mindset and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Confident communicator comfortable liaising with various stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with property finance systems.
• Ability to handle large data sets and perform complex reconciliations.
