Property Maintenance Technician

About the role

Scottish Canals is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician to join its Estates & Placemaking team. Based in the Crinan Canal region (flexible within Lochgilphead/Ardrishaig/Crinan), you will support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse portfolio of residential, operational, commercial and visitor attraction properties.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Facilities Manager in executing a comprehensive Planned Maintenance Programme for the Scottish Canals estate.
• Provide a robust reactive maintenance service, carrying out repairs, minor installations and upgrades as required.
• Support other Scottish Canals teams in managing estate properties, equipment and infrastructure to required standards.

Required profile

• City & Guilds qualification or NVQ Level V (HNC) in Construction Practice.
• Relevant property/building trade experience.
• Certifications such as PAT, Control of Legionella and PASMA are advantageous but not essential.

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a salary range of £32,367 – £35,218 per year.
• 35‑hour work week (Monday‑Friday).
