Purchasing Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities for a global manufacturing client based in Northamptonshire. The role will support the launch of a new manufacturing site, ensuring a reliable, efficient and sustainable supply chain across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Execute local purchasing activities in line with the group’s strategy.
• Coordinate purchasing requirements with operations, logistics and other internal teams.
• Select suppliers from approved lists, issue orders under framework agreements and manage supplier relationships.
• Negotiate contracts, evaluate performance and drive cost‑saving initiatives.
• Monitor delivery schedules, quality standards and stock levels.
• Maintain accurate procurement data in the ERP system.
• Support import transactions and prepare customs documentation.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and sustainability standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related field, or professional qualifications such as CIPS, CPSM or CPM.
• Proven purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation and analytical abilities with a structured working style.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
