Quality Controller – Manufacturing

About the role

Morrisons is hiring a Manufacturing Key Operative - Quality Controller in Northwich (King Street, Rudheath). The post involves routine checks on products and packaging to confirm they meet food safety and legal standards, recording information and reporting non-conformances so that product withdrawals or recalls are prevented. The role is permanent, 38.5 hours per week, 6am to 6pm, with a closing date of 07 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Make routine checks on products and packaging for food safety and legality
• Use relevant systems to record information and show traceability and due diligence
• Escalate non-conformances to prevent product withdrawals or recalls
• Carry out checks such as temperature probing, swabbing, and weight and size checks
• Work towards minimising loss of sales or profit while meeting customer requirements

Required profile

• Previous manufacturing and food handling experience is preferred but not essential, as full training is given
• Team player who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an active role
• Able to work in temperatures of around 8 degrees or below (full protective clothing provided)
• Only recruits who have reached the school leaving age

Required skills

• Desirable: quality control and understanding of product allergens
• Desirable: Food Safety Level 2 and/or HACCP Level 2
