Quality Engineer – Precision Components Manufacturer

About the role

Our client, a long‑standing precision engineering company based near Tewkesbury, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their professional quality team. You will lead improvement programmes, support new product introductions and ensure that quality standards are consistently met across production, suppliers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain QA documentation such as FAIR reports, Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans.
• Drive non‑conformance investigations using tools like MAS (R&R), SPC, RCA, CAPA, APQP and PPAP.
• Participate in NPI activities, ensuring quality requirements are understood and documented.
• Conduct third‑party supplier audits and internal audits against the HPE management system.
• Collaborate with operations, shop‑floor staff, customers and suppliers to resolve non‑conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver quality improvements.

Required profile

• Proven quality engineering experience in a production environment, preferably within precision machining.
• Strong knowledge of PPAP, RCA techniques and ability to write clear problem statements.
• Experience with First Article Inspection (AS9102) and monitoring/metric implementation.
• Relevant qualification at HNC level or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering.
