Quality Lead

About the role

Zinc is building a new Quality Engineering function and needs a Quality Lead to define and own the quality practice across the product. You will work closely with engineers, identify gaps, and create the regression safety net that prevents defects from reaching customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assess where quality breaks down across the product and engineering process.
• Design and maintain regression test plans that give the team confidence to ship quickly.
• Coach engineers to embed testing in pull requests and raise their testing ceiling.
• Develop tools and approaches for complex scenarios that standard testing cannot cover.
• Create reliable test environments using third‑party mocking tools.
• Introduce quality best practices throughout the software development life‑cycle.
• Track, report and act on quality metrics to improve product health.
• Grow a small team of 2‑4 quality engineers as the function matures.

• £72,000 per year salary.
