Quantity Surveyor – Painting & Decorating (Carlisle/Manchester)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor specialising in painting and decorating to manage a diverse portfolio of commercial projects across Carlisle and Manchester. You will work closely with site and contract managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, quotations and tender submissions covering labour, materials, preliminaries and programme considerations.
• Liaise with site and contract managers to monitor progress and update any changes to the agreed contract scope.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage projects ranging from £4,000 to £4 million, ensuring accurate cost control and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within painting, decorating, dry‑lining, finishing or fit‑out sectors.
• Background in a subcontractor environment with commercial project exposure.
• Strong technical knowledge of industry processes, materials and cost structures.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
