Reception Teacher – Full‑time & Supply Roles in Gravesend

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with several primary schools in Gravesend to recruit enthusiastic Reception Teachers. You will help children settle into school life, building confidence, curiosity and social skills that underpin their future learning.

Key responsibilities

• Create engaging, child‑centred activities that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development in a safe, inclusive classroom.
• Assess progress and adapt learning experiences to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and leadership to ensure a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be working towards it.
• Experience teaching in EYFS or Reception.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Passionate about early childhood development and inclusive education.

Required skills

• Ability to design and deliver child‑centred learning activities.
• Effective communication with pupils, parents and staff.
• Organisational skills for planning and assessment.
