About the role
We are seeking a friendly and organised Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients at our two‑surgery orthodontic practice in Tunbridge Wells. You will help create a welcoming environment while supporting the smooth operation of the clinic.
Key responsibilities
- Greet patients in person and over the phone, answer queries and maintain a relaxed atmosphere.
- Manage the appointment diary, including bookings, cancellations and rescheduling.
- Explain treatment options, support payment transactions and clarify private vs NHS services.
- Maintain accurate patient records and handle confidential information securely.
- Address concerns and complaints with empathy, aiming for positive outcomes.
- Assist clinicians with handovers and support the Practice Manager in daily administrative tasks.
Required profile
- People‑focused, empathetic and able to create positive experiences.
- Previous experience in a customer‑facing role is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong verbal communication skills, both face‑to‑face and on the phone.
- Proactive, flexible and willing to support the team wherever needed.
- Professional demeanor with a genuine passion for excellent service.
Required skills
- Confidence using IT systems for booking and record management.
