Registered Nurse/Paramedic – Forensic Custody (Guildford)

About the role

Mountain Healthcare is recruiting Registered Nurses and Paramedics to work within police custody suites in Guildford. The role provides specialist forensic healthcare to detainees, supporting their welfare, safeguarding and the criminal justice process. Full accredited training is provided, so no prior custody experience is required.

Key responsibilities

• Assess detainees’ fitness for detention, interview, charge and release.
• Respond to acute medical episodes and provide immediate care.
• Offer healthcare advice and support safeguarding decisions.
• Collect and preserve forensic samples, document injuries and maintain accurate clinical and evidential records.
• Work collaboratively with custody teams, police officers and partner agencies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN) or Paramedic qualification.
• Minimum three years’ experience in an acute clinical setting.
• Ability to work autonomously and make independent clinical decisions.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced, varied environment within police custody.
