Reinstatement Manager – Utilities

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Reinstatement Manager to lead a growing reinstatement operation for a well‑established utilities contractor delivering essential infrastructure across the North West. You will have autonomy to shape processes, develop high‑performing teams and drive operational excellence while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop reinstatement supervisors, operatives and subcontractors.
• Plan and coordinate reinstatement programmes across multiple live projects.
• Ensure compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), HAUC specifications and local authority requirements.
• Drive productivity, quality and right‑first‑time performance.
• Manage budgets, resources, materials and subcontractor performance.
• Monitor KPIs and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with operational, commercial and client teams to deliver excellent service.
• Support audits, inspections and quality‑assurance activities.
• Investigate defects and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the business.

Required profile

• Previous experience managing reinstatement operations within utilities, highways or civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NRSWA legislation and HAUC specifications.
• Proven ability to lead operational teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Commercial awareness with budget and performance management experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Proactive, hands‑on management style.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA).
• Familiarity with HAUC specifications.
• Full UK driving licence.
