Reinsurance Pricing Analyst

About the role

MS Amlin is hiring a Reinsurance Pricing Analyst in London on a permanent, full-time hybrid basis. The role sits within a team of seven and a wider Pricing team of twenty-six, covering reinsurance businesses across Property, Casualty and Specialty lines. It reports to the Reinsurance Pricing Actuary and supports cross-class pricing deliverables where required.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with underwriters to assess risk and optimise pricing strategies in line with syndicate profitability targets.
• Produce data-driven pricing recommendations and present findings to senior stakeholders through large account case pricing.
• Support continuous improvement of pricing processes, models and strategies.
• Run quarterly Pricing KPIs and annual inflation reviews, and contribute to Pricing Portfolio Reviews with independent views on risk quality.
• Analyse internal and external data to build pricing models that improve underwriting profitability.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the Pricing team, underwriters and other departments reporting to the Chief Actuary.
• Support management information accuracy, development and use, and work with Exposure Management, Portfolio Management and IT on pricing model development.
• Contribute to automation initiatives and continue working towards full actuarial qualification.

Required profile

• Undergraduate in maths, economics, actuarial science or another numerate discipline, working towards an actuarial qualification.
• Experience in pricing, reinsurance or insurance classes.
• Entrepreneurial, results-focused mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain complex data simply and to collaborate with underwriters, actuaries and model developers.
• Advantageous: previous pricing experience in the London market, CAT modelling interpretation, lateral thinking and project ownership.
