Repairs & Maintenance Supervisor – Social Housing

About the role

We are seeking a Reactive Repairs & Maintenance Supervisor for a leading contractor in the social housing sector. The role involves overseeing the maintenance and repair of social housing properties, ensuring they remain safe, comfortable and compliant for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians and external contractors in responding to reactive maintenance requests.
• Inspect properties to identify repair needs and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.
• Allocate work orders, schedule repairs and manage daily team activities.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and costs incurred.
• Monitor budgets, recommend cost‑effective solutions and report on performance.
• Build positive relationships with residents, addressing concerns promptly.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless communication on housing matters.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; further qualifications in maintenance management are a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in social housing or property maintenance in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of SOR codes and strong technical understanding of building maintenance, repair and renovation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency with maintenance management software and basic computer applications.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in housing maintenance.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
