Research Nurse – Clinical Trials Specialist

About the role

The Research Nurse/Clinical Trials Practitioner will work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and manage a portfolio of in‑house, national and international phase II and III clinical trials in haematological malignancies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct commercial and non‑commercial clinical trials (Phase I‑III) in line with ICH GCP guidelines.
• Educate patients, families and the multidisciplinary team about trial objectives, treatment schedules, side‑effects and follow‑up plans.
• Collect, process and store biological samples and ensure accurate trial data documentation.
• Monitor expected and unexpected adverse events and act as patient advocate.
• Provide cross‑cover for other research nurses, trial practitioners and data managers as directed by the Clinical Trial Manager.
• Identify and report risks, incidents, serious incidents and near‑misses to maintain a safe environment.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse registered with the NMC and experienced in clinical trial coordination.
• Demonstrated autonomy and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Strong knowledge of haematological malignancies and the therapies under investigation.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to the NMC Code of Conduct.
