Research Physiotherapist / Nurse (Trauma & Orthopaedic)

About the role

Join the Trauma & Orthopaedic research team at Barts Health NHS Trust as a Research Physiotherapist or Nurse. You will support the coordination and delivery of clinical research studies, ensuring patient safety and high‑quality data collection.

Key responsibilities

• Support the coordination and delivery of clinical research studies across the Trauma & Orthopaedic portfolio.
• Identify, recruit and obtain informed consent from patients for orthopaedic/MSK trials.
• Coordinate study visits, collect accurate clinical data and maintain study documentation.
• Maintain electronic data systems and study files in line with regulatory requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective study delivery.
• Contribute to wider research activities, share learning and disseminate protocol information.
• Develop care programmes for patients participating in research.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse or Physiotherapist with a motivation for research.
• Patient‑facing with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to explain study information to patients and carers.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ICH‑GCP guidelines.
• Experience in clinical research coordination.
• Proficiency in electronic data management for clinical studies.
