Resident Doctor – Oncology (Part‑time)

About the role

The Christie Private Care, part of HCA Healthcare UK, is seeking a dedicated Resident Doctor (R2) in Oncology to join its award‑winning, patient‑centred cancer service in Manchester. This part‑time position (up to 24 hours per week) is permanent, with the opportunity to take additional shifts through the hospital’s bank.

Key responsibilities

• Support safe and effective delivery of oncology care across medical, clinical, haematology‑oncology, surgical and palliative specialties.
• Provide continuity of care for in‑patients, including assessment, clinical review and coordination with consultants.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient management plans.
• Engage in audits, quality‑improvement projects and internal networks.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with postgraduate training in oncology (Resident Doctor R2 level).
• Commitment to high‑quality, compassionate patient care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Experience with systemic anti‑cancer therapies.
• Knowledge of radiotherapy techniques.
• Familiarity with interventional radiology procedures.
• Understanding of stem cell transplantation processes.
• Exposure to advanced technologies such as robotics.
